Hi, I'm Manoj
Here's my life story:
- I was born in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia to immigrant parents from Sri Lanka
- I was super nerdy as a kid and loved creating stuff. I entered a global Lego stopmotion competition and placed within the top 10 entrants in the world. It might have been a pity prize as I was 12 years old at the time.
- I graduated high school in the top 0.05% of Australia then went straight to medical school at 18.
- Halfway through my MD, I founded KIS Academics. We were accepted into the Monash Accelerator program.
- During COVID, I did research for an honours year (BMedSc Hons). I published two papers and taught myself python and R. I loved both coding and research.
- After graduating, I worked as a junior doctor at Monash Health. I was running KIS Academics simultaneously and grew it to 7 figures in revenue.
- After a year of 90 hour workweeks balancing these two roles, I decided to take a break. I quit being a doctor and hired a new CEO for KIS Academics.
- I lived out of a backpack in 2024 and travelled around the world for 366 days. I had never really travelled before, and this was my first time solo travelling too.
- I made amazing friends, did some cool and crazy things and documented my adventures on Instagram
- 31 countries later, I returned to Australia in Jan 2025 to figure out what to do next.
